La Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja afronta su recta final. Hoy se ha disputado la tercera jornada, primera de la ronda final con unas buenas condiciones de viento, en líneas generales, que ha permitido cerrar tres pruebas para los grupos Oro, Plata y Bronce, mientras que Perla ha completado solo dos.
La general ha dado un vuelvo importante en el grupo Oro, tras esta primera entrega, en la ha habido baile en las posiciones. Hasta el día de hoy era la canaria y vigente campeona del mundo, Marta Mansito-Valverde (RCN Gran Canaria) quien mantenía el nº 1 en la tabla, pero ha cedido y eso ha sido como consecuencia de los dos últimos parciales del día: 7-48, en la primera mantuvo el tipo con un brillante y trabajado segundo puesto. Unos números que la hacen bajar hasta la 4ª de la general absoluta, aunque mantiene la primera plaza en féminas y con un colchón importante sobre la siguiente regatistas.
El mando de la general absoluta, y primero en categoría masculina, lo asume el catalán Juan Lleonart (CN El Balís) con 28 puntos. Lleonart sellaba un 10º puesto en la primera prueba del día, mejorando en la segunda con un 2º, pero ya en la tercera caía hasta la 39º plaza, resultado que se iba a quitar y mercede a los parciales anteriores de 2-7-3-4 le permite llegar líder a la última jornada con pequeño margen de 6 puntos sobre el segundo.
Oliver Iglesias (CN Port d’Andratx), segundo en la tabla con 34 puntos también ha sufrido un pinchazo, siendo en la segunda prueba en la que lograba su peor parcial en Torrevieja con un 33. Con 9 puntos de diferencia por detrás de Iglesias se coloca otro español: Alejandro Valero (RCR Alicante) que también y al igual que los otros dos de arriba no ha tenido acierto en una de las tres pruebas. El alicantino no superaba la plaza 27 en la segunda prueba, en las otras dos cerraba con 8-4.
La igualdad es máxima entre los protagonistas para estar en las tres primeras plazas de podio. Lleonart tiene 28, Iglesias 34 y Valero 43 pero…. El sueco Alexander Forssén es quinto con 44, los mismos que la fémina Mansito-Valverde. Por detrás y con algunas opciones se encuentran el turco Mehmet Erkut Budak (Sopraventus Team- Istanbul SC) y peruano 10º del Mundo: Joaquin Acevedo (Team Happy) con 50 puntos, ocupando las plazas 6 y 7 respectivamente.
Izan Rogel (RCN de Torrevieja), quien se ha marcado hoy un triunfo parcial en la primera prueba del día, junto a la francesa Lilou Backes (YCPR Sopraventus) lideran la flota SUB13.
Mañana domingo, 2 de febrero, se cierra la XVII Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja con los nuevos campeones. En el programa están previstas tres pruebas recuperando el top de salida a la primera de ellas a las 10.00 hora

The penultimate day in the waters of Torrevieja closes with three races completed for the Gold, Silver and Bronze groups, while Perla closes the day with two races completed

The Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja Trophy faces its final stretch. Today was the third day, the first of the final round with good wind conditions, in general, which has allowed three races for the Gold, Silver and Bronze groups, while Perla has completed only two.
The general standings have taken an important turn in the Gold group, after this first round, in which there has been a dance in the positions. Until today it was the Canarian and reigning world champion, Marta Mansito-Valverde (RCN Gran Canaria) who held the number 1 position in the table, but she has given way and that has been as a result of the last two partials of the day: 7-48, in the first one she kept the type with a brilliant and hard-worked second place. Some numbers that make her drop to 4th in the overall absolute, although she maintains the first place in women and with an important cushion on the following sailors.
The overall lead in the men’s category is taken by the Catalan Juan Lleonart (CN El Balís) with 28 points. Lleonart sealed a 10th place in the first race of the day, improving in the second with a 2nd place, but in the third race he fell to 39th place, a result that he would take away and mercede to the previous partials of 2-7-3-4 allows him to reach the last day leader with a small margin of 6 points over the second.
Oliver Iglesias (CN Port d’Andratx), second in the table with 34 points has also suffered a puncture, being in the second race in which he achieved his worst partial in Torrevieja with a 33. With 9 points behind Iglesias is another Spaniard: Alejandro Valero (RCR Alicante) who also and like the other two above has not been successful in one of the three races. The Spaniard was no better than 27th in the second race, in the other two he closed with 8-4.
There is maximum equality among the protagonists to be in the first three-piece podium. Lleonart has 28, Iglesias 34 and Valero 43 but ….. Sweden’s Alexander Forssén is fifth with 44, the same as the female Mansito-Valverde. Behind and with some options are the Turkish Mehmet Erkut Budak (Sopraventus Team- Istanbul SC) and Peruvian 10th of the World: Joaquin Acevedo (Team Happy) with 50 points, occupying places 6 and 7 respectively.

Tomorrow, Sunday 2nd February, the XVII Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja closes with the new champions. Three races are scheduled in the programme, with the start of the first one at 10.00 am.
