El alcalde electo de Torrevieja y concejal de Cultura en funciones, Eduardo Dolón, ha presentó ayer el “I Encuentro Europeo de Escuelas de Teatro Amateur” que se va a celebrar en Torrevieja del 29 de junio al 3 de julio, en el Teatro Municipal. Un primer encuentro creado por el Ayuntamiento de Torrevieja, que nace con el espíritu de continuar en años sucesivos, y que ha sido financiado por la Unión Europea a través de los Programas Europeos de Cooperación, con una subvención de 25.000 euros. Un total de 4 agrupaciones de jóvenes procedentes de Lituania, Letonia, Italia y España, participan en este encuentro bajo la idea denominada “EL TEATRO, UN LENGUAJE COMÚN EUROPEO”. Eduardo Dolón ha destacado que los objetivos que se pretenden conseguir con este pionero proyecto teatral son: Promover la ciudadanía activa y europea entre los países, fomentar la solidaridad y promueve la tolerancia entre jóvenes, en especial para reforzar la cohesión en la Unión Europea; favorecer el entendimiento mutuo entre grupos de teatro de países diferentes; así como favorecer la cooperación europea en el ámbito cultural entre los países participantes. El alcalde electo de Torrevieja ha estado acompañado por los líderes de los grupos participantes: Alessia Fiorito (Grupo Alessandria – Italia) Jolanta Narbutaitiene (Grupo Bruknele – Lituania), Dace Klava (Grupo Society “Attisba JP” – Letonia) y  Raúl Fernández (Escuela Municipal de Teatro de Torrevieja Grupo Junior – España).

Bajo el lema “The theatre, the european common language” (El Teatro, un lenguaje europeo común), las organizaciones de Italia, Letonia, Lituania y la nuestra en España, forma un grupo común de cerca de 40 participantes con una afición común por el teatro. Las obras a representar van desde cuentos tradicionales de su país (Letonia), espectáculos dirigidos a niños (Italia), dramas sociales y familiares (Letonia) y tragicomedias contemporáneas (España).

El objetivo del encuentro es conocer cómo los jóvenes de nuestras localidades entendemos la cultura y en especial el teatro. Cada uno de los grupos presentará una obra de teatro de su país y todos juntos realizarán un evento común uniendo criterios y esfuerzos dándolos a conocer a toda la ciudad en un evento conjunto en la calle, que se celebrará el domingo 3 de julio, y que consistirá en un carnaval-pasacalles, evento común en toda Europa, reclamando y promocionando el teatro y la cultura en general entre habitantes y visitantes de nuestra ciudad.

Durante este primer encuentro, se llevarán a cabo actividades y grupos de trabajo enfocados a relacionar el teatro a nivel amateur con las habilidades y herramientas que nos aportan la participación en actividades culturales como el teatro, no sólo en lo educativo sino también en valores como la tolerancia y la empatía. Además, el teatro aporta competencias para el mundo laboral como son las de hablar en público, la creatividad y la iniciativa.

Además se pretende conocer y aprender todos de todos, no sólo a nivel técnico, sino a nivel humano, pues el teatro hace a las personas más tolerantes y les une a pesar de las diferencias culturales que podamos encontrar entre países del sur (España e Italia) y del este de Europa (Lituania y Letonia).

Este esfuerzo conjunto lo ha posibilitado el Instituto Municipal de Cultura de Torrevieja “Joaquín Chapaprieta” que es el verdadero promotor de esta idea y quien coordina y supervisa este proyecto que posibilita a grupos no urbanos como son nuestros socios del Este, conocer y trabajar con grupos más urbanitas como son los del Sur. La continuidad del proyecto permitirá sentar bases de colaboración y trabajo entre las distintas ciudades y sus entidades dedicadas al teatro.

Torrevieja hosts the First European Meeting of amateur theater schools

40 young people from Lithuania, Latvia, Italy and Spain participate in this initiative funded by the European Union that promotes solidarity and promote tolerance among young people

The elected mayor of Torrevieja and Councillor for Culture in office, Eduardo Dolon, has presented today the “First European Meeting of Amateur Theatre Schools” to be held in Torrevieja from 29 June to 3 July at the Teatro Municipal.
A first meeting set up by the city of Torrevieja, born with the spirit to continue in subsequent years, and has been funded by the European Union through the European Cooperative Programme with a grant of 25,000 euros. A total of 4 groups of young people from Lithuania, Latvia, Italy and Spain participate in this meeting under the idea called “The Theatre, A COMMON EUROPEAN LANGUAGE.”
Eduardo Dolon has highlighted the objectives to be achieved with this pioneering drama project are:
Promoting active citizenship among European countries, to promote solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular to strengthen cohesion in the European Union, to foster mutual understanding between theater groups from different countries, as well as to promote European cooperation in the cultural field between the participating countries.

Under the slogan “The theater, the common european language” (The Theatre, a common European language), organizations from Italy, Latvia, Lithuania and ours in Spain, is a common group of 40 participants with a common hobby theater. The works range from traditional stories represent their country (Latvia), shows aimed at children (Italy), social and family dramas (Latvia) and contemporary tragi (Spain).
The meeting’s objective is to understand how young people of our locations we understand the culture and especially the theater. Each group will present a play for his country and together made a common event criteria and efforts linking them known to the entire city in a joint event on the street, to be held on Sunday July 3, andconsist of a carnival parade, common event in Europe, claiming and promoting theater and culture in general between residents and visitors to our city.
During this first meeting will be held working groups and activities aimed at linking the theater at the amateur level with the skills and tools that give us the participation in cultural activities such as theater, not only in education but also values ??such astolerance and empathy. In addition, the theater provides skills for the workplace such as those of public speaking, creativity and initiative.
It also intends to meet and learn all in all, not just a technical level, but on a human level, as the theater makes people more tolerant and unites them despite the cultural differences that we can find among the southern countries (Spain and Italy ) and Eastern Europe (Lithuania and Latvia).
This joint effort has enabled the Municipal Institute of Culture of Torrevieja “Joaquin Chapaprieta” which is the real promoter of this idea and who coordinates and oversees the project, which enables non-urban groups such as our eastern partners, meet and work with groups more urbanites such as the South. The continuity of the project will lay a foundation for collaboration and work between the different cities and entities engaged in the theater.
